What will our time together look like?
Initial Assessment - Free 15 minute conversation
We will start with an assessment session. This is where we get to meet and introduce ourselves properly, and decide if CBT is the right approach. At this point we will have an open conversation and if CBT is not appropriate then I will signpost you in the right direction or potentially put you in touch with a colleague or another service who may deliver a different type of therapy or treatment.
Therapy sessions
At the start of each therapy session, we will plan what to discuss. This often includes but isn't limited to; exploring thoughts, feelings, and ways of responding to a particular issue, making sense of how the problem may have developed; thinking together about what could now be different to bring you closer to your hopes for the future, and experimenting with change.
Specific approaches to treatment will vary depending on your needs and treatment will be tailored to bring about effective, long term solutions.
Ending the treatment
You are free to bring treatment to a close at any point without fear of financial commitment or penalty. All I would ask is for one week notice so that we may agree a plan for the future that gives you the best chance of continuing to do well.
